The 13th Annual Empty Bowl Supper

          Picture

          24 March 2012  From 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
The Empty Bowl Supper is a major fund raiser for supporting ECHO House, the transitional Homeless shelter in Calvert County.  It is not a fancy affair but it is a fun time for all.  Most importantly , almost all the food, music, utensils, etc. are donated so the money raised goes to supporting ECHO house, not putting on the event.

In the tradition of an old time soup kitchen,  the menu consists of soup, bread, and water.  But man, what soups!  Many of the local restaurants donate copious amounts of their signature soups and you can slurp down as much as you want on a first come basis.

What's more you get your very own hand crafted soup bowl, made by a local potter, to not only eat from but also to take home as a memento of your support of the homeless.  The bowls are all different, so we suggest you arrive early so you have a broad selection to pick from.

          Silent Auction

As part of the fund raiser, we will again have a silent auction.  Each year the items seem to get better.  This year we will have everything from tickets to various professional sporting events to vacation getaways to fine art paintings. The bidding will be fast and furious so arrive early to scout it out and plan a strategy....... and don’t forget your wallet!
